「Flag down a taxi - タクシーに乗る・メーター」 に関する 英単語 & イデオム
□ flag down a taxi 手（旗）を振って、タクシーを止める
ex) This is called “flagging” or “hailing” a taxi down.
手を振ってタクシーを止める事を "flag down"、または "hail down" と言います
□ in the direction you want to go 行きたい方向へ
ex) Stand on the side of traffic moving in the direction you want to go.
行きたい方向に向かう 道の端に立って
□ unoccupied taxi 空車のタクシー
ex) Find a taxi stand, if you cannot find an unoccupied taxi.
空のタクシーが見つからなければ、タクシースタンドを探して
□ wave one's arm out 手を伸ばして 振る
ex) Stand close to the road and wave your arm out.
道路に近づいて立ち、手を伸ばして 振ってください
■ head （ある方向や、場所へ）行く、進む
ex) Where are you heading? = Where are you headed?
（運転手が乗客に）何処に行きますか？
head : to go in a specified direction or toward a specified place
ex) If you are heading for somewhere, you are going in that route, but there is some possibility of not reaching it, or making of stops along the way.
もし "head for" を使う場合、その方向に進むが たどり着けない、或いは 途中で停車する可能性も示唆している。(Heading と Heading for の違いについて）

ex) The nighttime surcharge is $3 for rides from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.

ex) The fare increments on a time basis when the taxi is stationary.
タクシーが停車している間は、時間を基準に 料金は上がっていく
