Q. "Choose" と "Select" には "選ぶ・選択する" という意味がありますが、２つの単語の意味をどうやって使い分けますか？

A. "選ぶ・選択する" の意味を持つ動詞として "Choose" が もっとも一般的です。　"Choose" は 主語にあたる人物の 好みや意図によって 選ぶ場合に用います。
"Select" は より明確な 条件に基づいて "選ぶ" ため、"吟味して 選ぶ" のように訳すと、しっくりくる場合が多いと思います。
